PS Guelph will launch June 5 at 7 PM with a new book by Jesse Harris!

We’re a hub for gathering around books, music, and art. On June 5, 2013 at 7:00 PM our doors open at 46 Essex Street (a space we are proud to share with Silence: silencesounds.ca). Pop in to browse books, learn about our process, and chat over an espresso! We’re also launching Guelph’s tiniest and newest record shop, which will focus on local, Canadian, and independent music while also carrying a supply of used records.
We print books on demand, creating original work with artists and writers we admire. We don’t just produce books, but form new communities through the shared experience of reading. And every book is lovingly made by hand.
When you walk into our storefront on Essex Street and say you’d like a certain book from our Publication Studio catalogue (available online at publicationstudio.biz), we make it and hand it to you in exchange for money. More like a bakery than a traditional bookstore, we bake our books fresh daily. Come and see how it’s done! All events are free and open to the public. PS Guelph is a collaborative project of Musagetes.
PS Guelph is the newest of several sibling studios around the world. Each studio has their own flavour, and the focus of PS Guelph is to promote the intersections of the local literary, music and art scenes. The Publication Studio family includes: PS Bordeaux, PS Boston, PS Guelph, PS Los Angeles, PS Malmö, PS Oakland, PS Portland (ME), PS Portland (OR), and PS Vancouver.

Launch of Jesse Harris’ new book called POP ART POEM (originally published in issue three of Idyeahs magazine). Jesse Harris works in a variety of media such as sculpture, printmaking, vinyl-cutting, bookmaking, and animated GIFs. His work references Punk, Pop Art, and Conceptual Art to recontextualize and reevaluate D.I.Y. aesthetics, often depicting the transformation of radical messages into collectable kitsch. He is a graduate of the University of Guelph, has exhibited internationally, and is represented by Georgia Scherman Projects.
Come raise a glass of punch and contribute to a special edition of POP ART POEM with us!
