Mosaic Tile Workshop with Red Pepper Spectacle Arts

Mashkiki Gitigaan is happy to present a collaborative community garden project with Red Pepper Spectacle Arts to create 4 outdoor stepping stones embellished with glass mosaic tiles. Each participant in this workshop will have a hand in creating permanent stepping stones for the medicinal and pollinator garden in the back of the Boarding House Arts Building, located in the center of the parking lot at 6 Dublin Street South, Guelph.

As well, we will have the opportunity to create a small mosaic artwork to take home. Participants will learn the basics of mosaic design in glass, from pattern making to glass cutting, application, and inlayed mosaic grout casting. Stepping stones will be created to honour the Anishnaabeg Bimaadiziwin – Medicine Wheel Teachings.

This is a two-day workshop that is FREE to attend. We ask that you RSVP for both days, however if you can only make it to one day of the workshop, please detail this in your RSVP to elwood@musagetes.ca/musagetes-old. There will be a capacity of 10 participants for this workshop due to limited materials and space. It is open and accessible for all to attend.
