Joe Pitawanakwat – Medicinal Plants Guided Discussions

As part of Mashkiki Gitigaan – a local land-based learning initiative presented by Musagetes – please join us for a day led by Joseph Pitawanakwat, leader of the Creators Garden enterprise out of Manitoulin Island. Creators Garden is focused on teaching the legitimacy of plant based medicine and how to sustainably harvest and use every part of medicinal plants. There will be two guided discussions led by Joe on Sunday, October 15th.

10:30 AM -12:30 PM Discussion led by Joseph around Medicinal, Ceremonial and Ancestral Healing Teas.
12:30 PM-1:45 PM – FREE lunch provided

10C – 42 Carden Street
2:00 PM – 3:30 PM – Discussion led by Joseph at 10C (located at 42 Carden Street) – “What role can rooftops/urban spaces play in (re)connecting indigenous communities to land, culture and traditions?”

10C is an operational shared office/meeting space/event space/collaboration centre, offering individuals, professionals and researchers working within Guelph with a place to gather/work and exchange ideas. We have two part-time Community Collaborateur’s facilitating workshops, supporting member organizations, and animating the space.
