Adrian Blackwell is a Toronto based artist and urban designer whose work responds to the spaces of uneven development produced through Postfordist urbanization.  His sculptures, photographs, maps and films intervene in public spaces, challenging the privatization of common resources.  They have been exhibited at artist run centres and public institutions across Canada, at the Shenzhen Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture, and at the Architectural Association in London. Blackwell co-edited Unboxed: Engagements in Social Space, with Jen Budney. He is a member of the Toronto School of Creativity & Inquiry and the editorial collective of Scapegoat: Architecture, Landscape, Political Economy. He is currently an assistant professor at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture at the University of Toronto.
